On the surface, the SIHOO M57 might look plain and simple. It has a subtle design that some might call “boring.” Sure, it’s understated and without any standout aesthetic flair, but it does boast some of my personal must-have ergonomic features that make it worth a look, combined with a low price that makes it more accessible than most other gaming and office chairs.
You only have to set it up once
To unlock the cheap yet cheerful advantages of going with the SIHOO M57, you first need to build it. This requires more work than most other chairs that I’ve tested. It’s simple enough, but having to put together components that I expected to be pre-assembled extended the build time to 30 minutes. It’s not a huge problem, but it sets a poor first impression.
Once it’s built, the SIHOO M57 demands to be configured before its ergonomic properties can be fully effective. The knob on the rear of the chair adjusts the lumbar support. This is a feature that I’ve fallen in love with on other chairs, so I’m ecstatic to see it trickle down to more budget-friendly seats. With that said, the knob being on the back does mean it’s tough to adjust while actually sitting in the chair, which can lead to a cycle of standing up and sitting back down over and over again while you make small alterations.
Go ahead and adjust it
The headrest is also adjustable, with back and forward adjustments joining the usual up and down movements. This is accompanied by the more expected adjustable armrests, recline functions, and gas life for customizing the height of the chair.
In use, I found the SIHOO M57 to be very comfortable when it comes to supporting my back, which is my main concern these days. However, my height of 6’7″ was a little too extreme for my head to be comfortably supported. My partner at 5’10” had much better luck. My recommendation is that those above six feet tall may want to look elsewhere.
The price is right
At the time of writing, the SIHOO M57 can be bought for $195.99 in grey and $199.99 in black on Amazon.com, while it’s $229.99 on the official SIHOO website. For that price, I think the Amazon deal offers good value for what you’re getting here. Provided you are of the right height, this chair is supportive in the most important ways, comparable to chairs that cost double.

Final Verdict
The SIHOO M57 combines some of my favorite ergonomic features with a relatively low price that puts it in the target zone of most gamers and home office workers that are looking to elevate their ergonomic chair game. If you can nab it when it’s discounted, then it’s an even bigger win. Just be wary if you’re above six feet tall!
